UNF Student Alliance for Inclusion and Diversity presents ‘YouNF Week’

The UNF Student Alliance for Inclusion and Diversity (SAID), a division of the Department of Diversity Initiatives, is celebrating “YouNF Week” virtually. This week-long series of programming seeks to engage the campus community in celebration of diversity and inclusion and aims to unify the student body as they come together to embrace their diverse and authentic selves.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Monday, Jan. 18: Honoring MLK

    • In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., SAID will reflect on and cherish his great accomplishments and legacy. 
     
  • Tuesday, Jan. 19: SAID General Body Meeting

    • SAID will host the first general body meeting of 2021 and introduce the student leaders of ASIA, BSU and LASO, discuss how to become a member and play fun virtual icebreaker games. 
     
  • Wednesday, Jan. 20:  
    • Out to Lunch

      • SAID and the LGBTQ Center will facilitate a discussion on what the uniquely individual experience of coming out, or not, means by sharing stories and ways to do come out safely as well as providing validation for choosing not to come out.

      • SAID and the Interfaith Center will discuss identifying as non-religious or questioning. Oh My Gosh: Non-Religious Worldviews

    • Reflect and come together to learn how to embrace our differences through a special keynote address given by Caylin Moore, celebrated author and Rhodes Scholar.
     
  • Friday, Jan. 22: 
    • 21 Queer Questions

      • The LGBTQ Center will ask questions to test knowledge of LGBTQ+ culture, film and more.
