UNF dean Dr. Jeffrey Chamberlain named a Faculty Innovation Fellow

Dr. Jeffrey Chamberlain, UNF Hicks Honors College Jeff Chamberlaindean, has been accepted as one of 21 candidates in the inaugural Faculty Innovation Fellows (FIF) program run by Stanford University.

As part of the program, Chamberlain will focus on developing innovative practices within the UNF honors program including a central space that fosters creativity and ingenuity among honors students and serves as a connector to the whole university. As envisioned, this Honors living and learning center will be a high-performance and energy efficient building that includes housing, classrooms, collaboration space, maker space and faculty offices.

In this two-year FIF program, educators from across the globe will work to design unique projects that enhance the innovation ecosystems at their schools and help students gain vital real-world skills and mindsets. The cohort will work together as a community of practice, meeting regularly, sharing strategies and supporting one another to make measurable progress on their respective campuses.

The FIF program committee shared that Chamberlain’s efforts as a faculty change agent and the important work he is doing to improve UNF should be celebrated, especially in a year where higher education needs to be able to quickly adapt to new opportunities and challenges.
