UNF School of Nursing ranked No. 2 'Best Online Nursing Program' in Florida

nursing students The University of North Florida’s School of Nursing in the Brooks College of Health was recently ranked No. 2 among the 2020 Best Online RN to BSN Programs in Florida. 

The rankings, compiled by regsiterednursing.org, assessed nursing programs on several factors which represent how well a program supports students during school, towards licensure and beyond.

Registered nurses (RNs) are a critical part of the healthcare infrastructure. With a growing need for highly skilled nurses, many RNs in the country are realizing the advancement and earning potential of pursuing further education. UNF is rising to the occasion by offering a convenient and flexible RN to BSN program.

“We are so proud of our nursing students," said Dr. Cynthia Cummings, associate professor and chair of the School of Nursing. “During this pandemic, our students are answering the call to serve. Many have already gone to work in healthcare facilities all over the United States. Our students are highly prepared, well versed in all areas of nursing and have demonstrated their incredible skills and compassion through this very difficult time.”

More than 700 students enroll in the UNF School of Nursing each academic year, and the School graduates around 140 prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing students each year. UNF nursing graduates have a NCLEX-RN exam pass rate of 96.64%, which is significantly higher than the national pass rate of 91.24% and state of Florida rate of 88.84%.

The inaugural flagship program of UNF, the School of Nursing offers a wide variety of programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels with community-based, population-focused curriculum corresponding to changes in healthcare delivery trends.
