UNF holds 6th Annual Women Leaders in STEM Conference

Student looking at beaker in chemistry labThe University of North Florida’s College of Computing, Engineering and Construction and the Center for the Advancement of Women in Engineering are hosting the 6 th Annual Women Leaders in STEM Conference.

In celebration of International Women’s Week, the conference brings together a panel of prominent women STEM leaders to highlight efforts designed to increase women participation in STEM. Volande Piazza, Managing Director of CITI Global Consumer Bank and the founder of Citi’s Women in Technology (WIT) program, is the keynote speaker.

The STEM panel consists of local distinguished women leaders including: Dr. Joy Wolfram of Mayo Clinic, Deborah Guild of The PNC Financial Services Group, Suzy Orr of Medtronic, Cynthia Morin of Johnson & Johnson, Michelle Welch of CSX, Melissa Fulmore-Hardwick of Acosta Sales & Marketing and Kathy Thomas of the Florida Department of Transportation. 

UNF’s Center for the Advancement of Women in Engineering focuses on the recruitment, retention and advancement of women in engineering. This event is free and open to the public.
