English Language Program welcomes President Szymanski

English Language Program with President and Mrs. SzymanskiPresident Szymanski and First Lady Maria visited the English Language Program (ELP) at UNF to meet and engage with international students who are learning English as a second language.

The President and First Lady engaged in a fun, social exercise that allowed students to practice their English skills while learning more about the university's leading family.  First Lady Maria shared details of her experience in learning the English language as her family immigrated from Greece when she was a child.

The English Language Program at UNF was established in 1997 and has served thousands of students from over 70 countries. The students are immersed in a supportive environment to help them adjust to new cultural and educational experiences and gain confidence in academic and professional settings. The ELP also works to enhance the international diversity of UNF's campus and the Jacksonville community through authentic cross-cultural experiences.
