Locations and Spaces

The Faculty Excellence & Academic Engagement offices are located on the first floor of J.J. Daniels Hall (Building 1). We have both a student-focused area (Room 1500) and a faculty lounge and meeting area (Room 1400). We encourage all students to stop by and meet with us to discuss community-engagement and research opportunities. Our faculty lounge area is available for faculty to grab a cup of coffee or tea and have an informal chat, meet with colleagues, or just relax.

We also manage both the Talon Room and the Faculty Lounge on the fourth floor of Osprey Commons (Building 16). The Faculty Lounge is a place for all faculty to relax, study, engage in quiet conversation with colleagues. Except when reserved by a group approved by Academic & Student Affairs, the Faculty Lounge shall be available for use by faculty whenever the Osprey Commons building is open for campus use. All faculty should have the Faculty Lounge access coded to their Intellikeys. If not, please see the UNF Lock Shop.

The Talon Room is large banquet-style room suitable for larger gatherings. Faculty and staff affiliated with the University of North Florida may reserve the Talon Room at no cost. Faculty and the Academic & Student Affairs division have scheduling priority over the Talon Room, and no group is guaranteed use of the Talon Room. The room is available on weekdays only between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm on days when the University is open for regular business. It is not available on weekends or evenings, federal holidays, and/or when the University is closed. The room is provided as is, without staffing or support personnel being present. For more information and to apply to reserve the Talon room for an event, see our
