Component 4: PREP to Lead

Earn a graduate certificate in Teacher Leadership and Mentoring!

This program is designed for teachers interested in becoming professional learning community (PLC) facilitators, mentor teachers, and instructional coaches and specialists.

Project PREP provides:

  • The opportunity to attend UNF M.Ed courses for three semesters while earning a graduate certificate in Teacher Leadership and Mentoring
    • Fall (1 course); spring (1 course); summer (1 course)
  • $1,500 for each successful semester
  • $2,500 completion bonus upon earning your graduate certificate

Eligibility

  • Admission to the graduate school at UNF
  • Professional teaching license from the State of Florida
  • Three years of successful teaching
  • Alignment to the vision of Clay County District Schools which is to "prepare life-long learners for success in a global and competitive workplace and in acquiring life skills"

Earn an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership

Guided by the belief that the most important purposes of schooling are teaching and learning, the programs in educational leadership are designed to develop effective educational leaders.

Admission Requirements:

  • A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or its equivalent from a foreign institution with a GPA of 3 or higher in all work attempted in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate study
  • Resume and letter of intent
  • Certification
    • Copy of professional, not temporary, teaching certificate or statement of eligibility
    • At least 1 year of successful full-time teaching experience in public or private school, 3 years preferred
  • Three letters of recommendation
    • Address applicant's qualifications for success in graduate school
    • Must be on official letter head (if applicable) and have an original signature (electric signatures are not acceptable)
