MOCA Jacksonville provides University of North Florida students with many opportunities to broaden and deepen their education. MOCA functions as an academic think tank for the art, artists, and ideas of our time, and students are invited to be actively engaged.

MOCA Ambassador Program

As early as their first year in college, students are invited to apply to the MOCA Ambassador program, which offers paid opportunities to develop leadership and professional skills in communications, public relations and guest services while learning about the business and programming operations of a major public museum.

UNF Student Artist-in-Residence

Seniors in the Department of Art, Art History, and Design may apply for this highly competitive opportunity that awards access to a MOCA Jacksonville art studio and exhibition space to complete a new body of work and hone skills over the course of a final semester.

Museum Internships

The internship program at MOCA Jacksonville offers undergraduate and graduate students an exciting opportunity to gain real experience in a contemporary art museum. Internships are available throughout the year in marketing, curatorial, education, and operations.

Federal Work Study

UNF students who are eligible for and accept Federal Work Study (FWS) funding may apply to the MOCA Jacksonville team. The Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville X Hicks Honors

The Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville (MOCA) is the city’s oldest museum and one of the Southeast’s leading museums of contemporary art. Through its partnership with Hicks Honors, MOCA offers Honors students in all fields of study special opportunities to participate in museum programs, to win high-impact internships, and to contribute to the vision and leadership of the university.

MOCA Art Educator Internships

Art educator internships offer students in any field (you don’t have to be a great artist!) the opportunity to work with children and museum visitors on creative educational projects. Internships offer advanced student opportunities for high-value professional experiences relevant to numerous fields of study from art, history, and the humanities to business, communications, and technology and computing.

MOCA Jacksonville is offering an experiential learning internship opportunity for Hicks Honors College students. This position will report directly to the Director of Communications, Arts UNF and will develop social media content for the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville.

MOCA Board of Trustees

MOCA reserves a seat on its Board of Trustees, with full rights and privileges, for a student to contribute to the governance of the museum, in partnership with the business, civic, and cultural leaders of Northeast Florida who serve MOCA as trustees.
