Student Handbook Boosters/Osprey Club

Boosters

During your enrollment at UNF, you will meet UNF “boosters” (defined below) who will support and befriend you. However, keep in mind that you need to be aware of NCAA rules regarding accepting extra benefits from these individuals which could violate NCAA rules and place your eligibility in immediate jeopardy.

A booster is a “representative of the institution’s athletics interests” and is an individual, independent agency, corporate entity, or other organization who is known or should be to:

Have participated in or been a member of an organization promoting UNF’s athletic program (Osprey Club);

Have made financial contributions to the Osprey Club;

Be assisting or have been requested (by UNF athletics staff) to assist in the recruiting of prospective student-athletes;

Be assisting or have assisted in providing benefits to enrolled student-athletes or their families; or

Anyone who has ever been involved in any way with UNF athletic programs.

Osprey Club

The Osprey Club was established in 1982 and is the official fundraising arm of the UNF Athletics Department. The Osprey Club provides support for scholarships, athletic facilities, and sport-specific operating funds through direct donations and special events for all athletic teams. Donors to the Osprey Club partner with UNF to help create champions, not only on the playing field, but also in the classroom and for life.
