DIY rape kits 'a serious concern' according to Attorney General
The kits, one of which is sold under the name "MeToo," have been widely criticized by law enforcement. Sheila Spivey, senior director of UNF's Department of Diversity Initiatives, tells "First Coast News" that the at-home rape kits are very misleading.

UNF receives 2019 higher education in diversity award/diversity champion
UNF has received the 2019 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) award by INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine and was also recognized as a Diversity Champion. This is the fourth consecutive year UNF has been named a HEED Award recipient and the third year as a Diversity Champion.

UNF sees record-high enrollment numbers
With the new school year, UNF has set record-high enrollment numbers thanks to new freshmen and grad students. UNF announced on Monday that it had a record-high 2,648 freshmen students as total enrollment reached more than 17,300 students which is also a record for the school.

UNF professor looking to bring portable showers to the Bahamas
Dr. Sophie Filibert, College of Education and Human Services associate professor, is working to take more resources to the Bahamas, while also helping her own family pick up the pieces. Her father and sisters live in Freeport, directly impacted by Dorian, where the water remains contaminated. She shares her efforts to provide the area with portable showers and hygiene facilities with "Action News Jax."
