The University of North Florida’s Coggin College of Business has earned maintenance of business accreditation for its bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in business and accounting by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International.
To achieve accreditation, business programs must satisfy the expectations of a wide range of quality standards relating to strategic management of resources, interactions of faculty and students in the educational process and achievement of learning goals in degree programs. Since 1976, the Coggin College has been accredited by AACSB, an endorsement received by less than 10 percent of business schools nationwide.
“AACSB’s endorsement of the high quality of our faculty, students and programs is gratifying,” said John McAllister, dean of UNF’s Coggin College of Business. “Our focus on serving the needs of the Northeast Florida community and the support provided to us by the community, has been, and will continue to be, critical to our success.”
During the accreditation process, the Coggin College was visited and evaluated by business school deans with detailed knowledge of management education, applying accreditation standards that are widely accepted in the educational community.
Last year, the Coggin College was named a Best Business School by the Princeton Review, and two of the College’s programs—Transportation & Logistics and International Business—have been designated as flagship programs at UNF. These two programs are significant given the strategic location of UNF in Jacksonville, which is one of the vital logistics and transportation centers in the United States.
With more than 3,800 students, the Coggin College’s mission is to educate and develop business professionals through rigorous, relevant accredited degree programs offered by faculty devoted to student learning and engaged in scholarly activities.
AACSB International is the longest serving and largest global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.
