Student Life

At UNF, students are our first priority. There are plenty of opportunities for UNF Ospreys to get involved in activities that complement the classroom experience. Students can:

  • Participate in our unique student leadership initiative — the Taylor Leadership Institute
  • Join any of the more than 200 clubs and organizations
  • Belong to one of 24 fraternities or sororities
  • Live in one of our seven residence halls and apartment complexes
  • Cheer for our 19 NCAA Division I sports teams

To help students realize their educational dreams, we have assembled an array of programs, extracurricular activities, traditions and events to make the most of their experience on campus.

  • The Honors Program at UNF is coming into its own as one of the premier academic programs at the University. With smaller classes, more in-depth analysis of topics and nearly one-on-one instruction, the Honors Program gives high-achieving students an experiential and active learning environment featuring research and service learning opportunities.
  • The annual River City Rumble home game against crosstown rival Jacksonville University is a big draw every year, but last year’s contest will go down in the record books. More than 5,000 fans cheered the Ospreys on to victory — a marquee triumph for UNF’s growing athletics program.
  • UNF’s Student Government senators oversee the allocation of about $4.5 million in the Activity and Service Fee Budget while representing student concerns in all University-wide matters. They are responsible for developing and promoting programs and activities of practical value and interest to students.
