Zoom Meeting Security

Class meetings should be secure, so unwanted participants don't disrupt your meetings. There are a few ways to do this.

  • Require participants to be authenticated UNF users. With this method, your students have to log into their UNF Zoom account to get into the meeting.
    • Some students, especially those with personal, non-UNF accounts, may be confused about this at first.
    • Authentication is required for polls, A+ attendance, breakout rooms, and statistics.
  • Use the waiting room and manually admit students as they join the meeting.
    • This option is less secure, but it is easier for students.
  • You can also use the waiting room and set it to admit people that have authenticated UNF Zoom accounts automatically.
    • Use this if you are inviting people to your class meeting that do not have UNF accounts. Students that have logged in will skip the waiting room.
