Hicks Honors College Fellows Awards Program Hicks Honors College Fellow Awards are scholarships awarded to Hicks Honors students to help them complete unique educational experiences such as, but not limited to, conducting research, travel to domestic and international conferences to present research, participation in career-focused internships, attending a conference to explore future career options, Honors in the Major requirements, etc. Although award amounts may vary, Hicks Honors College Fellows generally receive as much as $1000 of funding per year ($500 per semester) for up to four years.

Hicks Honors College Study Abroad Scholarship The Hicks Honors College offers generous scholarships for study abroad experiences. Honors students are eligible for funding to participate in UNF study abroad trips or UNF university exchange trips (you can receive funding for two separate opportunities). Honors students should show Honors degree progression, have a current UNF GPA of 3.20 or greater to receive funding, and have taken IDH3924 Pre-Capstone Symposium before they are offered funding for a second trip. Funding must fit within your cost of attendance.

Note that funding for domestic travel (to conferences, internships, etc.) is normally done through the Hicks Fellows Awards Scholarship.

Student Government

Special Requests (requests more than $1,000) are meant to fund special events and services or projects for students. Any university department, agency or student organization funded department or entity may request this type of funding. All special requests are first heard by the B&A Committee, then approved by SG Senate, and then signed by the SG President as approved legislation. To request these funds, requestors must fill out the Special Request form completely and accurately, attach all quotes and backup documentation, then submit either to the SG Rotunda (Student Union 38 East, room 3300) or via Perch Portal at least seven (7) days before the next B&A Committee meeting. If your request is for an event, you must submit your paperwork five (5) weeks prior to the event date.

Travel Requests are meant to fund student travel where the student traveler(s) is representing UNF. This can include competitions, conferences, out-of-town meetings, seminars, workshops, etc. Individual students may request up to $500 per request, but can only receive $500 in funding per fiscal year (July-June). RSOs can request up to $2,000 per request for group travel, but can only receive $2,000 in funding per fiscal year. All travel requests are heard and approved by the B&A Committee and then signed by the SG President as approved legislation. To request travel funding, requestors must fill out the Travel Request form completely and accurately, attach all quotes and backup documentation, then submit either to the SG Rotunda or Perch Portal at least five (5) weeks before the event or travel date.
