2016 Small Business Week Awards Presented at UNF

The 24 th annual Small Business Week Celebration luncheon will take place 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at the University of North Florida’s Adam W. Herbert University Center, Building 43, Grand Banquet Hall, Room 1044. The event is presented by the Small Business Development Center at UNF with support from SunTrust Bank.

 

This year’s event features a keynote address from David Brown, chairman, CEO and president of Web.com, that will include insight on what it takes to be successful in an ever-changing industry as well as the challenges and opportunities that come with business growth. Web.com offers tools and services for small businesses to maximize their presence and effectiveness online. 

 

Following the keynote, the U.S. Small Business Administration will present the annual Small Business Week awards, which spotlight outstanding contributions of North Florida business leaders and champions at the district level. The U.S. SBA will also recognize North Florida’s top SBA lenders with awards for significant participation in the 7(a) and 504 Loan programs for fiscal year 2015, including:

  • National Exporter of the Year : David Bello Sr., David Bello Jr. and John Hartnett, Endoscopy Replacement Parts, Inc.
  • Florida Financial Services Advocate of the Year : Kristen Tackett, Florida First Capital Finance Corporation
  • Florida Veteran Owned Business of the Year : Peter Wilking, A1A Solar Contracting, Inc.
