University of North Florida Offers Business Women a ‘Step Up’

The University of North Florida Women in Business Society will host its fifth annual forum, “Step Up to the Challenge: Unleash Your Inner Potential,” which will take place 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Mar. 7, in the Coggin College of Business, Building 42, Winn-Dixie Lobby, on campus.

 

The forum includes a lunch keynote address, “Love 101,” presented by Dr. Isabell Springer, Driver’s Ed for Love founder. Driver’s Ed for Love is a Gainesville –based, relationship-education organization, and was founded by Springer to empower individuals to choose wisely as they travel the highway of love.

 

Break-out sessions such as “Assertiveness Training for Women: Channeling Your Inner Business Diva,” “Women in Leadership: Times of Challenge and Reinvention” and “Step up to the Challenge: Make a Difference as a Social Entrepreneur,” designed to enhance personal, academic and professional lives of women in the business world will be offered. The day wraps up with a networking social for students as well as professionals to mix and mingle. 

 

“We are thrilled to offer this invaluable educational opportunity to our students and local women in business for free,” said Ana Ballantine, UNF Women in Business Society vice president.

The forum is free and open to the public; however a RSVP is required and can be made through the UNF Women in Business Society’s Web page at http://www.unf.edu/coggin/cmc/wbs/ . A one-day campus parking pass is $3 and may be purchased at Parking Services, Building 52, located near the I-295 main entrance.

 

The Women in Business Society, founded in 2009, is a student organization based in the Coggin College of Business and dedicated to supporting women in their efforts to pursue higher levels of educational and professional achievement.
