University of North Florida head volleyball coach Kevin Campbell announced today the addition of Paige Pridgeon and Ashley Johnson. Pridgeon, a 5-7 outside hitter from Tallahassee, Fla., was named the Big Bend Player of the Year during her senior year at Lincoln High School. She earned All-Big Bend honors all four years. She was named All-State Second Team during her sophomore, junior and senior campaigns. Pridgeon averaged over 300 kills per season and ranked in the top-three in the Big Bend region in kills, digs and aces. Her club team, the Tallahassee Juniors, were ranked No. 1 in the state national qualifier. “Paige is very quick on the court,” Campbell said. “She has a fast swing and has great game sense. To that she adds a great personality. I can see Paige making an immediate impact on our team.”Johnson is a 5-11 outside hitter also from Tallahassee and was a teammate of Pridgeon at Lincoln High School. She was chosen as the Offensive Player of the Year at Lincoln during her senior year. Johnson earned All-Big Bend First Team honors and was named to the All-State honorable mention team. She tallied over 400 kills, 37 blocks, 82 digs and 32 aces during her senior campaign. Johnson also succeeded off the court, graduating with honors.“Ashley is a very athletic player and is very dedicated to the game,” said Campbell. “She has the tools and is on track to become a great volleyball player.”Pridgeon and Johnson join Allison Shirley and Nicole Baran who were announced previously.
