The University of North Florida’s Division of Continuing Education recently held its 6th annual Excellence in Employee Development Awards, recognizing companies, organizations, departments, teams and individuals whose outstanding achievements have significantly advanced workplace learning and performance in the community.
“We are well aware that the workplace is rapidly changing and becoming more complex. A major challenge is recruiting and retaining a qualified workforce,” said Robert Wood, UNF Continuing Education dean. Data has cited training opportunities for staff as a key factor in both recruiting and retaining our valuable human resources. Excellent training is good business.”
Local winners including the following companies:
• Excellence in Employee Development Award: Sea Star Line, LLC, and Carnival Cruise Lines
• Excellence in Learning Partnerships Award: Sea Star Line, LLC, and Amelia Island Plantation
• Trainer Excellence Award: Sea Star Line, LLC: Shawna Hunt and Commander, Destroyer Squadron 24: Stephen A. Elkins
• Excellence in Measuring & Evaluating Training Award: Convergys
• Excellence in E-learning/Blended Learning Award: Alcorn, Ward & Partners, Inc./Park University Enterprises, Inc., Interval International and Washington Mutual
• Excellence in Program Design Award: Community First Credit Union of Florida and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida
