Blackboard Support

A new look!

CIRT has partnered with Bloomfire, a leader in knowledge base platforms, to update and upgrade our existing support documentation. All of the documentation you previously found on the CIRT Support website, particularly the Tools Glossary and FAQs, have now been moved to Bloomfire - where it has been crunched, retooled and streamlined to better meet your support needs.

The benefits of this move are many:

  • Topics are now categorized, tagged & sorted for easy browsing and searching.
  • Intelligent searching for topics with type-ahead search quickly narrows down your search to exactly what you are looking for.
  • Tags allow you to easily see multiple articles related to a given topic.
  • You can now easily browse content by content type: be it textual, video, series, or links.
  • You can now readily see & access time-sensitive and popular content right at your fingertips.
    • The Featured Content area contains links to items that are perhaps more important or time-sensitive, like Blackboard News, How-To's, Semester Tasks, etc.
    • The Recent Posts area indicates those items that have been recently updated.
    • The 'Top Categories" and "Top Tags" areas will show you those items that are most popular among your colleagues.

To get started, check out the How-To video to learn how to navigate the new knowledge base. Then use the Knowledge Base, FAQs & Tool Glossary links at the left to begin searching the documentation.

All the comforts of home

While much of the support documentation has moved to the new knowledge base, the CIRT Support website is still your home for information about Blackboard's New Features and Known Issues, as well as the Semester Tasks lists.

And perhaps most important for you - the Blackboard Student Support Module is available within the CIRT site.  This module can be very helpful in redirecting some of the technical questions you may receive from your students - questions that can tie up a lot of time & effort that should be focused on the course material.
