Get Involved in EIGs

Are you looking to connect with your fellow A&P Association members on a smaller scale? Consider joining or starting an Employee Interest Group (EIG)! EIGs are specifically designed to operate similarly to student clubs, but for A&P staff instead. EIGs are a great way to get together with like-minded colleagues and spend time together either during or outside of work hours. EIGs are a brand new initiative from the A&P Association, so new groups are being added constantly. Read more about starting an EIG by reviewing our policies and procedures.

What is an EIG?

An EIG is essentially a club for A&P Association members. Each EIG must have at least five members including a group captain. Like clubs, EIGs gather around a shared interest such as knitting, kite flying, Linkedin, research and culinary arts. EIGs are similar to corporate "employee resource groups" but instead focus on action and activities rather than shared identity.

How do I start an EIG?

  • Review the EIG policies and procedures to familiarize yourself with the requirements.
  • Find four other A&P employees who will join your group.
  • Identify what the mission and purpose of your group will be. It can be as simple as "the Knitting Group will serve as a venue for A&P employees to meet to discuss different knitting-related topics and work on knitting crafts."
  • Complete the new EIG application.
  • Wait for approval!
