Thanks - A&P!!!

The A&P Association donated 110 toys and games to the Wolfson Children's Hospital on December 18. These toys will make it possible for children staying at Wolfson Children’s Hospital to choose a gift after they undergo a medical procedure. The toys will also be used in the playrooms to comfort and entertain the children during their hospital stay.

Message from the President:

As we come to the close of the fall semester and approach the winter holidays, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for all you have done on behalf of the University and our students. Recognizing that each of you has been asked to do more over the past year and we haven’t been able to give the pay raises you so well deserve, it’s important to me that you know your efforts have not gone unnoticed or unappreciated. As many of you know, UNF is one of only two universities in the state system that has not laid anyone off to balance our budget. Our ability to accomplish this is due in many ways to your willingness to work harder in these difficult times.

In recognition of your efforts, I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you about additional time off you can expect. In addition to the extended vacation days during winter break, we would like to give all budgeted employees Thursday, March 18 and Friday, March 19 off. These are the last two days of Spring Break 2010. My hope is that these additional days off reflect how the Board of Trustees and I value all you do to make us a better institution each and every day.

Thank you for staying loyal to UNF during these difficult budget times. It is a gift to the university and to your coworkers. I hope your time over the winter holidays provides you with opportunities for relaxation and fun as well as time spent enjoying family and friends.
