Spanish American Literature from Modernismo to the Present
Prerequisite: SPW 3030
Description: This course examines the development of Spanish American literature from the late nineteenth century to the present through a variety of readings and written and oral activities. Topics to be considered will include, but are not limited to, indigenous and Afro-Caribbean cultures, globalization, borderlands, ideology and revolution, Spanish American poetics, the literature of the so-called "Boom" and the evolution of Spanish American theater.
