INT3205: Cognitive Processing 3

Description: This course (Cognitive Processing) uses a process-oriented approach for applying the essential cognitive strategies to interpreting. These strategies include organizing and manipulating visual images, analyzing message for meaning, and self-monitoring for message fidelity through Think Aloud Protocols. Students receive instruction on accessing current literature on spoken and signed language interpreting, working memory, and cognitive load theory. The course serves as a transition from language learning to interpreting between American Sign Language and English.
