INT3134: Applied Ethics in Interpreting 3

Description: This course examines professional ethics and codes of conduct and how they contribute to the process of ethical decision-making. Students will examine the National Association of the Deaf-Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Code of Professional Conduct and apply its tenets to authentic interpreting scenarios through interactive discussions and activities. Through case studies and cooperative learning, students will solidify their ability to make ethical decisions as signed language interpreters. The course prepares students for the ethical interview portion of the National Interpreter Certificate examination.
