OspreyPERCH – Prevention, Early Intervention, Resiliency Through Counseling and Holistic Health

FROM THE DIRECTOR OF PERCH

Welcome to the OspreyPERCH – Prevention, Early Intervention, Resiliency Through Counseling and Holistic Health website. Whether you're here because you are stressed about exams, you feel like you don't fit in and can't seem to make friends, you are an athlete, but you aren’t performing at your best or you just feel lost and sad, you've been the victim of abuse and don't know who to tell.... you've come to the right place.

OspreyPERCH is here to help.

How do we do that?
By meeting you where you are and helping you however you need.

This website describes a variety of programs. Some are meant for overachievers who are having trouble keeping up. Others are for lone wolves who want to join a pack but don't know how. Some are for people who relate to animals more than other people. Others are best at team sports, not solo adventures. And some are hiding deep secrets that they know they need to share.

Whatever you need, OspreyPERCH is here to work with you. Our team of mental health counselors and paraprofessionals, along with animal-intervention therapists featuring trained canines and equines plus a wide array of experiential and adventure-based program leaders, all are ready to help find the right therapeutic fit for you.

After you review our website, send us an email, call or come by our office and let us know how we can meet you where you are and best help you live your best life! See contact details below.

About PERCH

Osprey PERCH (Prevention Early Intervention, Resiliency Through Counseling, and Holistic Health) is a clinical training program that can be used to help students address a variety of needs for counseling. The program is very different from traditional counseling and intervention programs because it combines UNF interprofessional academic resources from the Brooks College of Health to address campus-wide mental and physical health and students’ wellness needs. PERCH is an excellent place to land especially for those who might be struggling with mental, emotional, behavioral health, conduct, or academic issues.

The philosophy of PERCH is based on the four A’s: authenticity, availability, affability, and ability. PERCH is located in Building 4, Room 2800. While the program doesn’t accept walk-ins, there are service sites across campus in various areas where students live, work, and play.

These sites include:
Adventure Based Counseling (ABC)
LGBTQ Center
Dean of Students (DOS)
Some of the other services and partners PERCH has includes animal-assisted therapy and interventions with Campus Canines, equine-assisted interventions, integrative behavioral health with Exercise is Medicine and Food is Medicine, and PERCH communications and marketing.
