In 2019, The Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair Act was signed into law to prohibit race-based hair discrimination in the education and employment sectors. Participate in enriching dialogue focused on self-expression and individuality through cultural hairstyles in the workplace. Light refreshments will be served.

The Women's History Month Celebration provides a vehicle to honor women, their accomplishments and contributions to society. The keynote speaker is Dr. M. Jocelyn Elders, The 15th Surgeon General of the United States. Dr. Elders is currently a Distinguished Professor of Public Health at the University of Arkansas School of Public Health and a Distinguished Professor at the Clinton School of Public Policy.
