Drs. Tom Serwatka and Jay Coleman attended the meeting and discussed the performance metrics with the committee.
Dr. Coleman provided the committee with data showing “Performance-Based Funding Model for 2016-2017". It is evident in the data that for the majority of the metrics, UNF ranks in the middle of the SUS. However, improvement points change that ranking.
UNF’s three worst metric scores are: Average Cost per UG Degree, Six Year Graduation Rate and Academic Progress Rate. Because UNF has full-time faculty teaching undergraduate courses, cost per degree is always going to be high.
Dr. Coleman is going around campus meeting with different groups to discuss the performance metrics. He provided the committee with data showing a Heat Map of the Year-to-Year Retention Rates at UNF by Initially Declared Major. His office has just started looking at this data to determine how retention rate and six-year graduation rates can be improved.
The committee discussed how faculty and our committee can provide meaningful feedback regarding the budget to AA and were told that both Dr. Serwatka and Dr. Coleman welcome any feedback we are able to provide.
In November, the committee will be meeting with Shari Shuman.
