School of Computing- Undergraduate
Change a degree-major-concentration of an existing program
BS - Computing and Info Sciences Major Information Technology Concentration
Summary of the Changes:
We are requesting to modify the BS in CIS - Information Technology concentration to increase the security specialization from 12 to 15 credits and change the distribution of courses within that specialization. Students will now be required to take five courses, including CNT4406 Network Security/Management. CIS 4362 Computer Cryptography will no longer be part of this specialization.
A result of increasing this specialization to 15 credits is our upper level free elective area should display a range of 1 to 4 credits, which will depend on the student's specialization choice.
This change ensures all security administration students will graduate with the same stronger preparation to enter the profession.
