Elections Timeline 

  • Fall 2018 Election Timeline

  • Tuesday, September 11th: Political Party Declaration of Intent
    Political Party Declaration of Intent forms are due September 11th by 5:00PM in the Student Government Rotunda, located in Building 58E/3300. Forms can be found at the rotunda or online under the documentation web page.
  • Wednesday, September 19th: Party Fair

    The Party Fair will take place during Market Day in the Student Union Plaza from 10AM to 2PM. Students and candidates are encouraged to attend and meet with the different political parties for the upcoming election. 

    Party Chairs must contact the Elections Commissioner to discuss the set up. 

     

    Candidates are permitted to put up their campaign signage map (located in the Candidate Campaign Packet) to ensure you are following the proper policies and procedures.

  • Tuesday, October 2nd: Candidate Declaration of Intent
    Candidate Declaration of Intent forms (INCLUDING THE PURPLE CONDUCT FORM) are due October 2nd by 5PM  in the Student Government Rotunda, located in Building 58E/3300. Forms can be found at the rotunda or online under the documentation web page.
  • Friday, October 5th: Last Day to Finalize Disqualifications
    The Office of Elections will be contacting those candidates who do not qualify to run in the Fall 2018 Elections.
  • Wednesday, October 10th: Student-Candidate Forum

    The Candidate Forum will take place during Market Day in the Student Union Plaza from 10AM to 2PM. The Candidate Forum gives students the opportunity to meet with the candidates running and speak about their issues and concerns. 

    Party Chairs/Candidates must contact the Office of Elections to discuss the set up.

  • Tuesday, October 23rd: First Day of Elections

    Polling booths will be open from 9:00AM until 6:00PM in front of the Library and the Student Union. 

    Online voting will be available 24 hours. 

  • Wednesday, October 24th: Second Day of Elections

    Polling booths will be open from 9:00AM until 6:00PM in front of the Library and the Student Union. 

    Online voting will be available 24 hours. 

  • Wednesday, October 24th: Elections Result Release
    The unofficial election results will be released immediately following their tabulation and confirmation by the Office of Elections. The result release will take place in the Student Union Plaza.
  • Thursday, October 25th: Candidate Financial Statements & Signage Removal

    Candidate Financial Statements are due by 5:00PM in the Student Government Rotunda. All expenses must be declared. Refer to the Policies and Procedures or contact the Office of Elections if you have any further questions. 

    Campaigns are responsible for removing all campaign-related materials by the end of the day. 

  • Friday, October 26th: Judicial Complaints Deadline

    Any student may file a Judicial Complaint regarding the election. Judicial Complaints must be filed by 5:00PM in the Student Government Rotunda, with the exception of the Elections Commissioner.

How to Run in Elections

 

Step 1: 

Go to the Student Government Rotunda (located on the third floor of the Student Union Building 58E/3300) to pick up a Candidate Declaration of Intent Form

 

Step 2: 

Return completed Candidate Declaration of Intent Form to the Student Government Rotunda, 58E/3300.

 

Step 3: 

Fill out a Purple Student Conduct Form and bring it to the SG Director's Office, located in the Student Union Building 58E/3401.
