Cathy Hagan is Senior Business Consultant with the Florida Small Business Development Center. Since 1993, she has provided consulting and training for pre-venture, aspiring, and growing business owners. The goal is to help business owners start, grow, and succeed. Cathy’s focus is on business planning which she sees as the umbrella for the success of small businesses. She works with clients to develop marketing strategies, financial projections, and prepare loan packages. Most notably, Cathy collaborates with clients to prepare business continuity plans that focus on process management, building resiliency, and disaster planning to ensure success in spite of unthinkable disasters. This translates into succession planning as business owners prepare to transition ownership to someone else to take the lead.

She holds the Certified Business Continuity Professional certification from the Disaster Recovery Institute International and has completed training in strategic planning, financial planning, and business valuation, among other key business planning subjects.
