The multi-faceted 19.5 million dollar facility is a state-of-the-art wellness, fitness and sports learning facility that offers UNF students, faculty and staff unlimited access to the largest, most comprehensive wellness center in northeast Florida. Striving to enhance our students’ “out of the classroom experience”, the project was funded through the efforts of Student Government who voted to create a building fee to fund the project. The goal of this facility is to provide students with quality indoor facilities that will enable them to participate in activities that will enhance their health and wellness levels, provide them with lifelong wellness, sports and fitness learning skills for the future.

The first floor is home to the departments of Campus Recreation and Health Promotions. The friendly faces at the Member Services desk greet our patrons and monitor facility check-in with the Osprey1Card.  The Member Services desk is the main area for facility information, schedule, and merchandise sales.   For those who want a healthy snack or meal, a "Jamba Juice" outlet is located in the lobby.  Another standout feature of the first floor is the 34-foot tall climbing wall that greets students upon entry into the 3-level building. The wall looks like real rock and rises 34 feet up to meet the track level giving views of activity on all floors. The majority of group fitness classes are scheduled among the three dedicated indoor group fitness rooms that enable us to offer multiple classes at one time.  Over 50 group fitness classes a week are scheduled.  Spacious locker rooms accommodate restroom, shower, and changing needs for this busy facility.  Locker rooms have daily lockers and rental lockers available.

The 2nd level is home to The Dottie Dorion Fitness Center.  This space boasts 27,000 square feet of fitness floor space and accommodates $900,000 of fitness equipment. Located just off of the expansive cardio area is the outdoor multi-use balcony which is also used as an outdoor group fitness space. The Dr. Paul Shirley Assessment Center is located off the fitness floor space. This center offers students immediate access to personal fitness and nutritional assessments.

The 1/8 mile track on the 3rd level circumnavigates the perimeter of the building giving views of the fitness level, atrium, and fantastic outdoor views through its large windows.

Across the street from the Student Union and adjacent to the UNF Arena, the Student Wellness Complex creates a complete hub for student activity on the campus. This facility is taking Healthy Ospreys to a new level. Just like the Student Union, the Student Wellness Complex has become a major recruitment tool for UNF and future Ospreys.
