Emily Jeffries is a conscientious UNF student who truly knows what it means to be involved. From serving as a senator in Student Government to promoting sustainability on campus, Jeffries has used her involvement with students to better the University.
Along with fellow Student Government officials, Jeffries has worked on initiatives to reduce plastic waste on campus and advocate for a wildlife crossing, solar panels and the expansion of UNF’s nature preserve. She also serves on the university-wide Sustainability Committee representing Student Government. Being apart of Student Government has allowed Jeffries to be involved in many volunteer opportunities her favorite being the Osprey Voice surveys.
As someone who is very active on campus, she has advice for students who want to do the same. “I would tell students who want to get involved to visit our brand-new Student Involvement Center to find some clubs to join,” Jeffries said.
In addition to Student Government, Jeffries is involved in a number of organizations on campus. She participates in the Model United Nations Club and started the UNF chapter of the Roosevelt Institute, a student-run think tank.
As she nears her final semesters at UNF, Jeffries continues to use her platform to uplift the university and promote positive change on campus.
