UNF Names Scott Bennett as Vice President of Administration and Finance

The
University of North Florida has named Scott Bennett as vice president of Administration
and Finance effective Jan. 11, 2021. Bennett has served in this role as interim
vice president since Feb. 1, 2020.
As vice
president of Administration and Finance, Bennett is responsible for overseeing
more than 20 departments, managing all aspects of financial operations,
information technology, business services, human resources and EOI,
infrastructure, construction, plant operations and the University Police
Department (UPD).
Bennett
has been at UNF since 1999. He previously held the positions of both associate
vice president and assistant vice president of Administration and Finance,
Inspector General, and as project director for the University’s Enterprise
Resource Planning (ERP) implementation project.

fortunate to have Scott continue to serve in his role as vice president leading
our administration and financial operations,” said UNF President David
Szymanski. “He is a dependable and trustworthy leader with a proven track
record of successfully managing multiple departments as well as the key
responsibility of keeping the University’s operations accountable.”
Bennett
has more than 30 years of experience, including more than 25 years in the
higher education realm. Prior to joining UNF, Bennett held positions with the
Florida Board of Regents and the Auditor General’s Office within the Florida
Legislature. He is a licensed certified public accountant (CPA).
Bennett
has served on various local and national boards and committees, including the
Community First Credit Union’s Board of Directors and Audit Committee, the
Southern Association of College and University Business Officers (SACUBO)
Comprehensive College and University Committee, and numerous review committees
for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Commission on
Colleges.
