UNF Celebrates Homecoming 'Nest Fest 2019'

The University of North Florida's Homecoming "Nest Fest 2019" is an exciting week-long celebration for the Osprey community, Sunday, Feb. 17, through Saturday, Feb. 23. Some of the many events and activities are highlighted below:

  • Comedy Show Featuring Jay Pharoah and Nasim Pedrad
    • 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15; UNF Arena, Building 34
    • Free admission for students with valid Osprey 1Card; $25, alumni; $30, general admission; Tickets
     
  • Mr. & Ms. UNF
    • 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18; Andrew A. Robinson Jr. Theater, Building 14A
    • Free for students with valid Osprey 1Card
     
  • Lip Sync
    • 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19; Fine Arts Center, Building 45, Lazzara Performance Hall, Room 1100
    • Free for students with valid Osprey 1Card
     
  • Swoopin' Selfies at Lend-A-Wing
    • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19; Hicks Hall, Building 53, Lend-A-Wing Pantry, Room 1202
    • Students stop by to learn about the Pantry and snap a photo with a stuffed toy Ozzie.
     
  • Men's Basketball at Jacksonville University Watch Party
    • 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20; Buffalo Wild Wings, St. Johns Town Center, 4594 Tropea Way
     
  • 1972 Emeriti and Friends Luncheon
    • 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21; Adam W. Herbert University Center, Building 43, Grand Banquet Hall, Room 1044
    • University alumni, faculty and staff in their retirement years are invited. RSVP is required by Tuesday, Feb. 12, via email or by calling (904) 620-4723
     
  • Alumni Recognition and Awards Ceremony

    • Alumni will be recognized for exemplary service and contributions; cocktail reception followed by a seated dinner and award presentations.

  • Night of Fun Carnival
    • 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21; J. B. Coxwell Amphitheater, outside the John A. Delaney Student Union, Building 58
    • Free for students with valid Osprey 1Card
     
  • Inauguration of President David Szymanski
    • 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22; Fine Arts Center, Building 45, Lazzara Performance Hall, Room 1100
    • The entire Osprey community is welcome. RSVP
     
  • Blue & Gray Bash: A Taste of the Town
    • 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22; Field House, Building 26
    • Alumni, faculty, staff and friends are invited to sample items from local restaurants, groove to live music from the band "be easy" and support student scholarships by bidding in live and silent auctions.
    • Admission is open to the public, $50 per person. Register
     
  • Swoop the Loop 5K and Fun Run
    • 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23; J.B. Coxwell Amphitheater, outside the John A. Delaney Student Union, Building 58
    • Support student scholarships and the Lend-A-Wing Pantry with a 5K run through campus or the 1-mile Fun Run.
    • Day-of-race registration from 8 to 9 a.m.; race begins at 9 a.m. Register
     
  • Women's Basketball versus Liberty University Senior Day
    • 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23; UNF Arena, Building 34

  • Baseball versus Fordham University Doubleheader

  • Homecoming Village: Party in the Plaza
    • 2:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23; Arena Plaza, outside the UNF Arena, Building 34
    • Get in the swoop spirit between the Osprey basketball games with this free, family-friendly event featuring food/refreshments, music, photo booth, face painting, golf cart parade, inflatable games and more.
     
  • Men's Basketball versus Liberty University Homecoming Game
    • 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23; UNF Arena, Building 34
    • General admission: Tickets
    • 6th Man Game package for alumni only: Tickets
