The University of North Florida Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Resource Center will host comedian Ian Harvie and his show, “Super Hero,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Building 58W, Student Union, Auditorium, Room 2704, on the UNF campus.

“We are excited to raise awareness about gender identity and transgender issues through a unique comedy show,” said Kaitlin Legg, UNF LGBT Resource Center assistant director. “Laughter has the power to bring together diverse groups of people over tough topics in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.”

Harvie opened for Margaret Cho, another unconventional comedienne, and a producer of Harvie’s first live stand-up special. His unparalleled act queers the traditionally macho, sex-obsessed world of stand up in uncommon ways, proving that laughter cuts across all gender identities and ultimately unites. He was recently cast to co-star on the new Jill Soloway TV series “TRANSPARENT” on Amazon.

The LGBT Resource Center’s mission is to provide valuable education and resources for the entire campus community with a commitment to advocacy, equality, respect, and support for LGBT students, faculty, and staff.

UNF, a nationally ranked university located on an environmentally beautiful campus, offers students who are dedicated to enriching the lives of others the opportunity to build their own futures through a well-rounded education.
