The University of North Florida’s Taylor Leadership Institute continues its Leadership Speakers Bureau series, “Writing YOUR Success Story: The More Resolute the Drafts, the Better the Story,” with the Honorable Angela Cox, 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 24, in Building 58W, Student Union, Student Auditorium, Room 2704, on the UNF campus.

Appointed in 2005 by Gov. Jeb Bush, Cox was the youngest judge ever to be selected. Commended for her transparent leadership style, she will share experiences from her crime-ridden Detroit neighborhood, paying tribute to the positive role models who helped her gain the competencies that shaped her life. Beyond her leadership as a public servant and motivational speaker, Cox dedicates herself to community service and mentorship.

Moderated by attorney Melissa Nelson, Cox will encourage both emerging and practicing leaders to embrace authenticity as she shares her personal and professional background—highlighting the transformative experiences that prepared her for the leadership roles she fulfills today. She will discuss how to pursue a purpose-driven life that upholds an ethical code of honor. Her presentation will invite leaders to identify challenges as platforms for leadership growth.

“Judge Cox befriended our Taylor Leadership Institute when we first created the Leadership Speakers Bureau,” said Dr. Annabel Brooks, Taylor Leadership Institute director. “She has graciously extended incalculable hours of service as a speaker, panelist and mentor and invites students to visit her courtroom to demonstrate how valuable leadership is in their professional and personal lives.”

Following the lecture, attendees are invited to enjoy a complimentary reception, catered by TLI community partner, Jason’s Deli. To register for this event, click here . For more information, contact Alison Kent, event coordinator, at .
