The University of North Florida and Better Together at UNF will co-host a screening and discussion of the film, “Enemy of the Reich,” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, in the Andrew A. Robinson, Jr. Theater at UNF, as part of the 2014 Distinguished Voices Lecture Series.

Narrated by Academy Award-winning actress Helen Mirren, “Enemy of the Reich” is the true story of Noor Inayat Khan, a young Muslim woman who sacrificed her life to fight against Nazi domination. Khan, who grew up in a home that fostered interfaith dialogue and cooperation, put her values into action by joining Winston Churchill’s covert operation to give the Allies a new chance at victory.

“This extraordinary, student-led experience combines film with an intergenerational living-room-style conversation across worldviews,” said Dr. Tarah Trueblood, UNF Interfaith Center director. “It’s an exploration into the meaning and purpose of life – and what values might be worth risking it.”

Following the viewing, UNF President John A. Delaney will facilitate a discussion among a panel comprised of UNF Interfaith students, Cheryl Tupper of OneJax Institute at UNF and Arthur Vining Davis Foundation, Rabbi Jonathan Lubliner of Jacksonville Jewish Center, and Alex Kronemer, one of the film’s producers. They will discuss the driving forces behind the film’s creation and explore a more inclusive definition of faith as the human activity of meaning-making.

All Distinguished Voices lectures are free and open to the public; however, an e-ticket is required. To obtain an e-ticket, visit or call (904) 620-2117
