2014 Small Business Week Awards Presented at UNF

22nd annual Small Business Week Celebration will take place from
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at the University of North Florida’s
Adam W. Herbert University Center, Building 43. This year’s event features
best-selling author Joe Abraham.
Abraham is an entrepreneur
with multiple successful companies under his belt and author of the book
“Entrepreneurial DNA: The Breakthrough Discovery
That Aligns Your Business to Your Unique Strengths,” a critically
acclaimed book based on his multi-year research into entrepreneurial behavior.
He is co-founder of BOSI Global, an operating partner to venture-backed,
privately-held companies around the world. Abraham has been featured on
FoxNews, CBS, NBC, CNN, ABC and various nationally syndicated radio shows to
speak about entrepreneurship and small business growth.
Following the keynote presentation, the
United States Small Business Administration will present the annual Small
Business Week awards, which spotlight outstanding contributions of North
Florida business leaders and champions at the district level. The U.S. SBA will
also recognize North Florida’s top SBA lenders with awards for significant
participation in the 7(a) and 504 Loan programs for fiscal year 2013,

Florida Small Business Exporter Person of the Year: Carlton Smith, Heavy Equipment Resources of Florida
Florida Women’s Business Center Excellence: Jacksonville Women’s Business Center
North Florida Small Business Media Advocate of the Year: Patrick Faherty, Citrus County Chronicle
The registration fee
for this event is $35 per person. Corporate tables of eight are available for
