Media Contact: Joanna Norris, Associate Director
Department of Public Relations
TEDxJacksonville, the University of North Florida Taylor Leadership Institute and affiliate sponsor, the UNF Women’s Center, will present “TEDxWomen: Invented Here” from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, in the Student Union Auditorium, Building 58W, Room 2704, on the UNF campus.
TEDx was created in the spirit of TED’s mission: ideas worth spreading. TEDx gives communities the opportunity to engage in dialogue along with the free flow of ideas. This live simulcast will explore inventions from technology, peacekeeping approaches, solutions to poverty and expression of art and how it relates to life.
This event will feature innovative and powerful women like Sheryl Sandberg, author of “Lean In,” and record-breaking, open-water swimmer Diana Nyad. There are three sessions—“To Be is to Do,” “Wisdom Begins with Wonder” and “To Move the World, First Move Yourself”—to be presented at this year’s conference. Each session will encourage individuals to take local ideas and implement them on a global scale.
This event is free to all UNF students, faculty and staff with a UNF ID and $9 for the general public. A light dinner will be provided. To register for this event, click here. For more information, contact the UNF Taylor Leadership Institute at (904) 620-5934 or at email@example.com.
