The University of North Florida is now as close as the nearest smartphone with the debut of the new UNF Mobile app, a free mobile campus application that brings college life to popular smart phones and mobile devices. The UNF Mobile app lets students, prospective students, alumni, faculty and staff stay connected. The University has also enhanced its website to be mobile-friendly.
The UNF Mobile app, currently available on iPhone and Android phones, offers mobile access to campus maps, events, the latest University news and more. It even has a directory that connects students with professors.
The public can download the application for free through the iTunes Store or Android App Store. The new UNF Mobile app was developed by Blackboard Mobile, a division of education technology company Blackboard Inc.
“We want to offer our students and other members of our community the best in technology and access and that means making the UNF Mobile app services and information available to mobile users,” said UNF President John Delaney.
The UNF Mobile app offers custom features such as:
Directory: Look up a professor or a UNF employee, give them a call, send an e-mail or find their office via an easy-to-follow map
Emergency: View and call emergency phone numbers such as 911, the University Police Department, Victim Assistance and the UNF Counseling Center
Events: View upcoming events, featuring the ability to add events to your smartphone calendar
Learn: Check Blackboard class announcements and grades from anywhere
Maps: Find your current campus location with GPS, search for buildings and places on campus and view building photos, so you’ll know where you’re heading
News: Read the latest headline stories and features on all areas of University life
UNF Mobile: Access mobile-friendly version of UNF’s website
UNF will also be introducing additional app features in the future such as access to athletics, Facebook, Twitter, Thomas G. Carpenter Library collections and more. For more information about the UNF Mobile app, visit
Additionally, the UNF website,
, has also been enhanced to be a mobile-friendly website.
