Celebrating our June Osprey Heroes
June 26, 2020
We're honored to celebrate June's Osprey Heroes, Margaret Partyka and Taylor Kwiatkowski.
Margaret Partyka, a staff member in the Controller's office, is a gifted seamstress who enjoys using her talents to help other. From sewing masks for healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic to creating quilts for babies in the neonatal intensive care unit at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Partyka enjoys giving back to the community. To date, she has made nearly 250 masks and 200 baby quilts, and she doesn't plan on stopping there.
Taylor Kwiatkowski, public health student, has been working on the frontlines with local healthcare provider Ascension St. Vincent's Jacksonville as a member of the COVID-19 pandemic response team. Since March, Kwiatkowski has been working with screening teams and assisting at the hospital's drive-thru testing site, one of the first drive-thru sites to be established in Florida. Kwiatkowski credits her excellent courses and professors at UNF with preparing her for what she is now facing, and feels well equipped to handle the tasks that come along with working on the frontlines during the pandemic.
