President's Message

At the University of North Florida, engaged faculty, broad educational offerings and beautiful natural surroundings provide an ideal environment to engage and inspire our students.

The University has grown significantly since opening its doors in 1972, but we remain committed to small class sizes and individualized attention, which are hallmarks of an education at UNF. Study abroad opportunities, research with faculty members and hands-on learning invigorate students in their pursuit of knowledge, while preparing them for the future. Approximately 77 percent of UNF students take part in internships and other real-world experiences in their fields before they graduate. These transformational learning opportunities clearly give students an edge. UNF is at the top of our state universities when it comes to graduates being gainfully employed in Florida, and the average salary of a UNF grad is well above the national average.

The University of North Florida is also consistently ranked high in prestigious regional and national rankings including distinctions as a best college in the southeast, a best college value and many others. We are proud of our designation as a military friendly school, as well as recognition of UNF’s efforts to promote diversity and inclusion on our campus.

Of course our greatest point of pride is our students. From the time they step foot on our campus to their work after graduation, UNF students and alumni not only have a significant impact on the prosperity of our region, but are making a difference all over the world. That legacy is certain to continue. Last fall, UNF welcomed a freshman class with an average high school GPA of 4.17 and an average SAT score of 1208. We are pleased to be the institution of choice for these motivated students.

The University of North Florida is a unique place committed to the success of all our students. This brochure provides a few facts and figures, but nothing beats a visit to campus. We’d love to see you!
