President’s office helps create $250,000 for student scholarships and assistance

UNF announced that President David Szymanski will take a 15% salary reduction in FY 2020 and the President’s Office budget will be reduced 65%  for FY 2021 to further assist students in need. This will create more than $250,000 in new student scholarships and need-based aid, while also helping to partially offset increased costs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “Today more than ever, we must make the sacrifices necessary to ensure that our students can complete their education. Now is the time to give back,” said Szymanski.

President David Szymanski joined WJXT’s Kent Justice on “ This Week in Jacksonville. ” The President addressed how the University of North Florida has adapted and continues to adapt to the COVIC-19 pandemic addressing remote instruction, graduation, faculty/staff/student well-being, and what it is like to be a university president during this unprecedented time.
