Meet and Greet

The Thomas G. Carpenter Library recently held a grand opening ceremony for the brand new Virtual Learning Center (VLC). UNF President and First Lady Szymanski joined staff members of the Thomas G. President and Mrs. Szymanski sent a "Thank You" video to the UNF Preschool Students and COEHS students who participated in a correspondence project. Pictures and greetings were exchanged bringing UNF's unique resources together.

Today the Intercultural Center for Peace and President and First Lady Szymanski kicked-off Indigenous Peoples’ Heritage Month to celebrate indigenous cultures by paying homage to the UNF land with a land acknowledgement and a keynote address from Dr. Denise Bossy, UNF History professor.

President and First Lady Szymanski popped in for a virtual visit to Instructor John Chapman’s Intro to Rhetoric and Narrative class. During their brief visit, they commended students for their courage and adaptability during these uncertain times.

President Szymanski and the First Lady joined members of the Osprey community in a virtual candlelight on racial justice, reaffirming the University's commitment to a safe and inclusive environment. During his remarks, the President announced the appointment of a vice president of diversity and inclusion as well as anti-racism training for new students, faculty and staff.

The month of May started off with a virtual celebration of our Spring 2020 graduates. Though graduates were not able to join together in the Arena on May 1, UNF celebrated the milestone virtually and hopes to welcome them back to campus to participate in a future live ceremony.
