President and First Lady Szymanski popped in for a virtual visit to Instructor John Chapman’s Intro to Rhetoric and Narrative class. During their brief visit, they commended students for their courage and adaptability during these uncertain times.

President Szymanski and the First Lady joined members of the Osprey community in a virtual candlelight on racial justice, reaffirming the University's commitment to a safe and inclusive environment. During his remarks, the President announced the appointment of a vice president of diversity and inclusion as well as anti-racism training for new students, faculty and staff.

May 2020

The month of May started off with a virtual celebration of our Spring 2020 graduates. Though graduates were not able to join together in the Arena on May 1, UNF celebrated the milestone virtually and hopes to welcome them back to campus to participate in a future live ceremony.

President Szymanski leads the University as it adjusts to rapid changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic., including finding solutions to help students in need who have been significantly affected due to loss of employment and other factors.

President Szymanski and First Lady Maria visited the English Language Program (ELP) at UNF to meet and engage with international students who are learning English as a second language.

UNF and President Szymanski honored the ideals and teachings of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King by recognizing students who carry his legacy forward through both their scholastic achievements and commitment to servant leadership.
