Description:
About two hundred and fifty species of Cuphea are native to North America and South America, including the
Caribbean. This species is native to Mexico.
It serves as a tall groundcover in the garden. The flower is an orange tube
with two lavender petals.

This is an uncommon plant in Florida gardens. It appears to be fairly
drought tolerant and has demonstrated cold hardiness to the mid-20’s F. It
blooms throughout its growing season.
