Parent and Family Schedule

The Parent and Family Orientation Program is an excellent opportunity for parents/guardians to become familiar with the University. Whether you are a parent, guardian or guest of a freshman, these programs are designed to help answer your questions about University resources and opportunities and find out what to expect the first year. Staff from several campus offices, current students and current parents will be available to answer your questions.

Below is a tentative schedule for the parent and family sessions during New Student Orientation.

Activities on Day 1:

  • Meet your Orientation Staff
  • Get to know fellow incoming Ospreys and their parents
  • A professor and an advisor share tips on “How to be a Partner in your Student’s Academic Success”
  • Learn what academic opportunities are available for your student
  • Learn about financial aid, scholarships and paying fees
  • Learn about living on-campus
  • Tour the UNF Residential Facilities

Activities on Day 2:

  • Receive your copies of the student and parent handbooks
  • Learn about general academic policies and procedures  
  • Learn "How Do I" and University resources at
    • Dollar & Sense Session
    • Campus Involvement Session
    • Wellness Session
    • Campus Safety Session
  • "Ask the Experts" Panel of current parents and students answer your questions based on their UNF experience
  • Turn in your Evaluation and receive your “Proud Parent T-shirt”
