New Student Orientation and Parent and Family Orientation - Due to COVID-19, our orientation programming has moved to August 14-16. Orientation will not conflict with first year students moving into their Residence Halls. Students will meet with their advisors via video conferencing before orientation once a student has removed their holds. Advisors will reach out to students directly beginning in mid May once a student has completed all holds. Our new schedule will be released in the next couple of weeks.  All updates can be found on the COVID-19 Updates - New Student Orientation website.

If you have questions or concerns please contact the Office of Parent and Family Orientation at Our staff has transitioned to work remotely in response to COVID-19, but we are actively responding to emails.

Parent and Family Orientation

First, we would like to say how proud we are your student has chosen the University of North Florida to further their education! On behalf of the UNF family, we welcome your student and look forward to meeting their unique needs.

New Student Orientation is an exciting and busy time as you assist your student in preparing to be an Osprey. At UNF, we feel our students' parents and families play a vital role in their college success.

During the Parent and Family Orientation program you will learn about UNF and the many programs available to your student. This is a great opportunity for you to see the many programs that enhance student intellectual, social, physical and emotional development. We hope it will be a fun time for you as well.

Our faculty, staff, and student leaders welcome the opportunity to meet and discuss with you all aspects of your student’s enrollment. Please do not leave the orientation program without having your questions answered!

Parent and Family Orientation will run congruently during the time that your student is participating in New Student Orientation. Students and families will have the opportunity to be together during the major and career presentations; however, the rest of the time is dedicated to helping you connect with UNF campus programs.

It is MANDATORY that students attend all of the functions of the orientation program. It is not mandatory that parents/family members attend, but we do highly encourage you to sign up to gain valuable insight of your student's future at UNF.
