TEACH Grant Program
The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant program is a non-need based program that provides up to $4,000* per year in grants to students who are enrolled in an eligible program and who, within eight years of completing the program for which the TEACH Grant is awarded, agree to each of the following for four years:
- Teach in a high-need field.
- Teach at a low-income elementary school, secondary school, or educational service agency.**
- Be identified as a highly qualified teacher.
*Amounts subject to change based on federal appropriations.
**Qualifying low-income schools and educational service agencies are listed in the Department’s Teacher Cancellation Low-Income (TCLI) Directory.
If you do not complete the four-year teaching obligation, this grant will convert to an unsubsidized direct loan.
