New Faculty Academy

The purpose of the New Faculty Academy is to engage new faculty in meaningful professional development and networking activities during their first year at the University of North Florida. Through these activities, we hope to build a community of faculty who support and encourage each other in their professional growth. Participation in the New Faculty Academy will provide you with opportunities to attend workshops and events intended to strengthen your pedagogical knowledge and skills and advance your scholarly agenda. Further, the New Faculty Academy will provide documentation of your professional development efforts that can be used in annual evaluations and promotion dossiers.

Upon successful completion of the Academy requirements, participants will receive:

  • Recognition during a celebratory luncheon with university leadership in the Spring semester
  • A New Faculty Academy certificate of completion
  • A letter of commendation from the Director of the Office of Faculty Excellence
  • Recognition on the Office of Faculty Excellence (OFE) website

  • Register for the Academy here
  • Attend at least six New Faculty Academy-designated sessions during the academic year.
  • Notify the New Faculty Academy Chair of your completion
  • Attend the New Faculty Academy Spring Luncheon
