The Office of Faculty Enhancement (OFE) is committed to faculty development in the areas of teaching, research, and service. Promoting faculty development enriches the educational experience of students, promotes a culture of innovation and improvement, and supports the retention of quality faculty by fostering an engaged and supportive work environment. To support these objectives, the Office of Faculty Enhancement provides the following services:
Individual Faculty Planning and Consultation
- Classroom Observation - By performing elective, confidential classroom observations the director helps both experienced and new faculty members build the skills necessary for productive, well-received pedagogy, especially in the area of engaged learning. This service may assist faculty members in evaluating their own teaching and in guiding their individual plans for improvement. Professional Best Practices
- Workshops – OFE provides a number of informative and engaging workshops that cover a variety of topics relating to faculty success in teaching, research, and service. Workshops focus on learning theory and strategies for successful teaching and research progress.
- Online Resources - OFE maintains web-based resources that assist faculty in planning engaging course activities and dealing with classroom issues. Conferences, grant funding, and interesting articles will be posted as they relate to pursuing success as a university professor.
